October 8th 2024

My gig on Wednesday at Kelly Brothers with the Blues Over Easy Jam is cancelled due to Hurricane Milton being in town too. It seems that Fort Lauderdale ain't BIG enough for the two of us. So we got cancelled. Too bad we can't cancel the DAMN. hurricane!! My gig with them will be rescheduled for another time but the band is there with a different featured performer every single Wednesday night along with a couple dozen local musicians sitting in for the jam part of the evening. Everyone stay safe and get pre ...Continue Reading

Plantation Walk on Sunday 4pm

October 4th 2024

Come out to Plantation Walk on Sunday at 4pm.  Public gigs are getting scarcer than hen's teeth but hopefully my victory at the Treasure Coast Blues Challenge up in Port St. Lucie last Sunday, and my upcoming entrance into the IBC in Memphis will create some interest. I do have some additional private parties including an InSpirit gig at a rehab, but since they are private they are never promoted.  Don't forget to check out my music on BandCamp.com/robertross1 and download a few songs. ...Continue Reading

Blues Challenge winner again

September 30th 2024

Last night I won the Treasure Coast Blues Challenge which earns me the right to compete again in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis in January. This will be the 3rd time I’ll be competing in the IBC as a solo or duo having won the South Florida Blues Challenge in 2019, and the SouthWest Florida Blues Challenge in 2022. Both times I made the semi-finals in Memphis. I hope to do better this time. Fingers crossed, nose to the grindstone. And my idea of what blues is, may be changing with the times.  ...Continue Reading

I will be competing up in Port St. Lucie on Sunday afternoon in the Treasure Coast Blues Challenge put on by the The Treasure Coast Blues Society starting at 2pm. Winners get to compete in the IBC in Memphis. I've done the IBC twice before since moving to Florida, once representing the South Florida Blues Society, and once representing the SouthWest Florida Blues Society.
