Saturday in Boynton

May 19th 2022

I got through two rounds of the quarterfinals in Memphis at the International Blues Challenge (IBC) and moved on to the semifinals. It was pretty cool. Met a lot of people who weren't wearing masks, and even though I usually was wearing a mask, I contracted CoVid19 whileI was there. I was in Memphis from May 5 to May 10. I had just gotten my second booster (4th shot overall) a week before arriving on Beale Street on April 28. Unfortunately you need at least 3 weeks for the booster to kick in. There were acts from all over the world, and all over the USA, including Alaska, France, Korea, the Mississippi Delta and everywhere in between. Every act had already won a competition sponsored by a blues society in their own area which earned them a spot in the IBC in Memphis. I performed as a solo and earned my spot by winning the South West Florida Blues Cha ...Continue Reading
