I've got some interesting gigs coming up so check it out.

Over the next few weeks I'll be doing gigs with some great old Florida buddies including Clay Goldstein (this Sunday), Piano Bob (February 5), and Hurricane Hawk (February 10) in various venues. Blast!
Mary Council, Bluesbobby Weinberg, and Mike Ancona of the South Florida Blues Society got me the private party for Blues Cruise ticket holders on Friday January 28. That should also be a blast!

I'll be playing the monthly Greenwich Village Folk Festival on Sunday February 5, Super Bowl Sunday. We'll start 5 hours earlier than usual so as not to interfere with the game. We'll start at 2pm. The GVFF is organized by two long time New York buddies Rod MacDonald and Raymond Micek. On that bill is also Guy Davis and Chris Smithers so look out. Whoa.

And as usual I'll be doing a lot of solo gigs all around the area. Come out and say hi.

Clay performs outside with different duo partners every Sunday and it is my turn to play the Courtyard Jamboree with him. We perform under an overhang behind 2 restaurants, The Blues Burghers and La Estancia Argentina. Both restaurants have delicious food and beverages and you can sit outside and dine while listening to the music. Or dance!! Robert is going the Memphis in mid-January to compete in the International Blues Challenge (IBC) organized by the Blues Foundation. Robert earned the right to compete in the IBC because he won the Regional South West Florida Blues Challenge in October. This fundraiser to for all the expenses including travel and accommodations. I will be taking on a limited number of dedicated guitar, bass, and harmonica students regardless of age or current level of expertise.

Robert is a two time New York Music Award winner and a New York Blues Hall of Fame inductee. Robert is known for a wide variety of blues, jazz, soul, country, rock ‘n’ roll, folk, and other roots music. Robert worked and recorded with Big Joe Turner and also worked with Lightnin’ Hopkins, John Lee Hooker, Otis Rush, Big Mama Thornton, Brownie McGhee, Memphis Slim, and other legends. One of Robert’s songs was recorded by Johnny Winter, and two other songs appeared on the soap opera “All My Children”. The Robert Ross Band has released 7 internationally distributed CDs and toured two continents. Robert has been teaching guitar for more then 25 years privately, and 13 years in NYC public schools. Robert’s work in the schools has been cited by the NY State Council of the Arts (NYSCA) for “best practices in arts in education programming”.

Lessons are $40 per half hour, and $60 per hour.
