In with the new, out with the old. The New Year is about to descend upon us, or hopefully WE are about to ASCEND to 2022. Wishing you all a Happy Ascension on December 31 at midnight and throughout the year.
I'll be doing a bunch of fundraising gigs in January for my trip to Memphis to compete in the IBC. Thank you to Ron Hart for the gigs and the support. You are the best-est agent ever!! And thank you to Heidi Ho Rosenbaum for starting a fundraiser on Facebook for my trip. Everybody in my world already knows Heidi Ho is like a straight flush! Robert is going the Memphis in mid-January to compete in the International Blues Challenge (IBC) organized by the Blues Foundation. Robert earned the right to compete in the IBC because he won the Regional South West Florida Blues Challenge in October.

The Blues Foundation will only provide passes to those members of your act who are officially registered to compete. If you need additional passes for your manager, tech support, driver, family members and/or friends, you will need to purchase those at blues.org or you can buy them at Will Call and Merchandise Sales located at Club 152, 152 Beale Street – 2nd Floor, during published operating hours each day. Passes are $100 per person.
If they would prefer, your friends, family, and support team may also purchase wristbands on Beale Street each night of the challenge rather than purchasing a pass for the entire event. Wristbands are not available for pre-purchase.

I will be taking on a limited number of dedicated guitar, bass, and harmonica students regardless of age or current level of expertise.

Robert is a two time New York Music Award winner and a New York Blues Hall of Fame inductee. Robert is known for a wide variety of blues, jazz, soul, country, rock ‘n’ roll, folk, and other roots music. Robert worked and recorded with Big Joe Turner and also worked with Lightnin’ Hopkins, John Lee Hooker, Otis Rush, Big Mama Thornton, Brownie McGhee, Memphis Slim, and other legends. One of Robert’s songs was recorded by Johnny Winter, and two other songs appeared on the soap opera “All My Children”. The Robert Ross Band has released 7 internationally distributed CDs and toured two continents. Robert has been teaching guitar for more then 25 years privately, and 13 years in NYC public schools. Robert’s work in the schools has been cited by the NY State Council of the Arts (NYSCA) for “best practices in arts in education programming”.

Lessons are $40 per half hour, and $60 per hour.
